Matthew Modine, Kelli Williams and Bonnie Bedelia star in this film adaptation of Daniel Keyes' novel, Flowers for Algernon, about a mentally handicapped man named Charlie who shows improvement after undergoing brain surgery. Charlie follows his doctor's orders to keep a journal about his progress. During the process, Charlie develops a bond with Algernon, a genius lab mouse who also underwent a similar experimental brain operation.
