With an awareness of WW I and its causes, participants and outcome, students will gain a better understanding of the causes of WW II and of our world today. Students will see the chain of political events that led to Communist Russia and Nazi Germany. Documents include maps of pre- and post-war Europe, the U.S. Declaration of War on Germany and the coded “Zimmerman Telegram” with decoded transcript that helped convince President Wilson to declare war.
