When astrophysicist Dr. Jack Murry disappears without a trace, the town is swirling with rumors that he has abandoned his wife and two children Meg and Charles Wallace. Spurred on by these rumors and the mysterious strangers, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, the children set off on a perilous quest through space to find their father. Their journey takes them to the dark planet, Camazotz, where they encounter a society of human beings controlled by an evil force.
