From the fight to abolish slavery in the 1800’s to the efforts to stop segregation in the 1900’s, this program chronicles the civil rights movement in America. Students will learn about the courageous leaders of the civil rights movement who led the fight for freedom and fairness for all Americans. Viewers will come to understand the important Supreme Court battles and major civil rights events that changed lives of everyone in the United States. Students will learn how people, working together in a non-violent way, can change unfair laws and make America a better place for everyone to live. .
