This program highlights common characteristics of grasslands, as well as the different types of grasslands found throughout the world. Some of the plants and animals that inhabit grasslands are featured, as are the changes grasslands have undergone over time. Concepts and terminology include: grasses; prairie; temperate, tropical, California, intermountain, and desert grasslands; savannas; and shortgrass, mixed, and tallgrass prairies. .
