Written, co-directed, and produced by Native Americans, this unique educational video and study guide makes the rich traditions of the Haudenosaunee people come alive for students of all ages. Ganondagan was a vibrant Seneca town of more than 4500 people located just south of Rochester, NY. Destroyed in 1687 by the French, it is now a New York State Historic Site devoted to Native American history. This 30-minute video provides a fascinating history of the site and the triumphant reconstruction of the world's only outdoor, full-scale replica of a 17th Century Seneca bark longhouse. The accompanying 40-page study guide provides related lesson planning materials including activities and quizzes specifically designed for classroom use.
